Hello, I’m Helen Borking. I’m an independent celebrant based in Lancashire, creating personalised ceremonies for life’s moments – the happy ones, the emotional ones, and everything in between.
As a Lancashire celebrant, I work with families and couples to create meaningful ceremonies that truly reflect them – whether that’s a wedding ceremony, funeral service, celebration of life, naming ceremony or vow renewal.
For me, it’s always about people. Your story, your family, your relationships… and finding the right words for what you want to say.
My journey into celebrancy is a bit of a change in direction. After 38 years working as a Finance Director in the Lancashire textile industry, I’m taking early retirement and am now beginning what feels like a very meaningful second chapter.
Becoming a celebrant is a real privilege – creating bespoke ceremonies that genuinely matter, and being trusted to deliver moments that people will remember. I’ve always been someone who listens carefully, notices the little details, and understands how important it is to mark life’s moments properly…
…whether that’s welcoming a child with a naming ceremony, celebrating a relationship with a wedding or vow renewal, or supporting a family with a funeral or celebration of life service.
Each Ceremony is Unique
As an independent celebrant, I believe that no two ceremonies should ever be the same. I write every ceremony from scratch, after taking the time to get to know you so that it feels authentic and personal — never a template, never off-the-shelf, but something that truly reflects you.
Some ceremonies are full of laughter.
Some are quieter and more reflective.
Most are a bit of both… and that’s exactly how they should be.
I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” ceremony. Whether you’re planning a romantic outdoor wedding, a heartfelt farewell, or a joyful naming ceremony, I will guide you through every step — from your first conversation through to the final delivery.
I can support with vows, readings, and structure, and am happy to deliver ceremonies in a wide range of locations, from venues and gardens to beaches and meaningful places.
My approach is simple: to listen, to understand, and to create a ceremony that allows you to celebrate, remember, and connect in a way that feels truly personal.
I work across Lancashire and the surrounding areas, and I’m always happy to meet in person or arrange an informal chat to get things started.
