Wedding Ceremonies
Beautiful, personal ceremonies created to celebrate your love story, your way.
Your wedding. Your story. Completely you.
Your wedding ceremony shouldn't sound like anybody else's - because your story isn't like anybody else's.
I'll create a warm, relaxed and completely personal ceremony that sounds like you, feels like you and leaves your guests saying:
“That was so them.”
Whether you're planning something intimate and understated or a big celebration surrounded by everyone you love, we'll create a ceremony that reflects the two of you.
Let's have a chat
A ceremony that feels like you
I'm not here to tell you what your wedding ceremony should look like.
I'm here to get to know the two of you - how you met, what makes you laugh, the people who matter to you, the things you love about each other and all those little details that make your relationship yours.
Then I'll turn all of that into a ceremony filled with warmth, meaning and personality.
There can be laughter, happy tears and a few surprises along the way - but never anything that doesn't feel like you.
No off-the-shelf scripts. No swapping somebody else's names for yours.
Your ceremony starts with a blank page.
You are my couple for the day
When I book your wedding, I don't book another wedding ceremony that day.
That means I can arrive in plenty of time, make sure everything is ready, speak to your venue and the people involved in your ceremony, settle any last-minute nerves and be there if timings don't go quite according to plan.
I'm not watching the clock because I need to rush off to another wedding.
No conveyor belt. No second ceremony waiting.
For that day, you are my couple.
Your story is at the heart of it
The best wedding ceremonies aren't simply about saying the right things at the right time.
They're about you.
How did you meet?
What were your first impressions of each other?
When did you realise this was becoming something special?
Who proposed - and did it actually go according to plan?
What makes you laugh?
What little habits drive each other mad?
And what are the things you love about one another that perhaps don't get said often enough?
It's those details that bring your ceremony to life.
They're the moments that make your guests laugh because they recognise you immediately - and occasionally reach for a tissue because something has caught them completely by surprise.
Together, we'll tell your story in a way that feels natural, genuine and unmistakably yours.
A wedding ceremony without the rulebook
One of the loveliest things about choosing an independent celebrant ceremony is the freedom it gives you.
Your ceremony doesn't have to follow a traditional format simply because that's how weddings have always been done.
You might choose to include:
- Personal vows written in your own words
- A favourite reading, poem or piece of music
- Handfasting or a ring-warming ceremony
- Children, family members or friends
- A meaningful way to remember somebody who can't be there
- A symbolic ceremony element that's personal to you
- Traditions that matter to your families
- Or something completely different
And if none of those feels like you?
That's absolutely fine too.
We only include something because it means something to you - never because a wedding ceremony says you should.
How we'll create your ceremony
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want your ceremony to look like.
That's what I'm here for.
1. Let's have a chat
We'll start with a complimentary, relaxed and completely no-pressure conversation.
Tell me a little about the two of you, your wedding plans and what you're imagining for your ceremony. I'll explain how I work and answer your questions.
Most importantly, it's a chance for us to see whether we click.
2. Getting to know you
Once you've booked me, we'll arrange a proper "Getting to Know You" meeting.
This isn't an interview and there won't be a clipboard of questions fired at you!
We'll chat.
I'll want to hear your story - the important moments, the funny ones and all the bits in between.
3. The little details
I'll also give you some questions to answer individually.
This gives me another glimpse into your relationship and often uncovers some wonderful little stories and sentiments that haven't come up when we've been chatting together.
Don't worry - I'll never deliberately embarrass you!
4. I'll write your ceremony
Then it's over to me.
I'll take everything I've learned about you and turn it into a completely bespoke ceremony, written from scratch for the two of you.
No templates and no recycled love stories.
5. We'll make it yours
I'll help you with personal vows if you'd like to write them, suggest readings or ceremony elements and help you involve the important people in your lives.
I'll also liaise with your venue and the relevant people involved in the ceremony so everybody knows what's happening.
6. Your wedding day
I'll arrive well ahead of your ceremony so there's plenty of time to check everything is ready and to help calm any on the day nerves.
7. Something to keep
Afterwards, you'll receive a beautifully presented keepsake copy of your ceremony - your story and those words preserved long after the confetti has been swept away.
My Wedding Style
Weddings can come with enough pressure already.
Your ceremony shouldn't add to it.
My style is warm, relaxed and down-to-earth. I'll guide you through everything, answer the questions you didn't even know you needed to ask and make sure you always know what happens next.
There can be laughter.
There can be emotion.
There may well be both within the space of thirty seconds.
But there will never be pressure to turn your ceremony into something that doesn't feel comfortable.
By the time your wedding day arrives, I want you to have one less thing to worry about.
Your ceremony? Helen's got it.
What about the legal bit?
It’s worth knowing that a celebrant-led wedding ceremony isn’t legally binding in the UK.
Most couples choose to complete the legal paperwork at a registry office before their ceremony - often as a simple, low-key appointment with 2 witnesses costing between £80 - £120.
That then gives you complete freedom to celebrate your wedding day exactly how you want to.
I work across Lancashire and the surrounding areas, creating wedding ceremonies in all sorts of settings — from countryside venues to back gardens.
